Recommended Equipment...

The following equipment is recommended based on the level of study in which you wish to take lessons.  While some equipment is optional, and will be marked below as such, the non-optional equipment is really required to be successful in your studies...

Level 1 (Beginner) Equipment

1. Rope Halter (Required)
The hand tied Rope Halter is essential for proper communication with your horse!  It has knots tied in strategic locations that reinforce our slightest requests.  The loop for attaching lines hangs below the jaw and acts as a hinge.  The halter should be made from soft, high quality yachting rope, which offers the ultimate in softness and strength.

You may purchase a Rope Halter from one of the following online sites:
2. 12ft Lead Rope (Required)
The 12-foot Lead Rope is essential for safety and proper communications, because it allows enough length to control your horse in almost all situations and the soft pliable material conveys your slightest request.  It is made from high quality yachting braid that is smooth, flexible and resistant to sweat.  It has a sturdy swivel snap that prevents the rope from twisting and improves feel and features a latigo popper.

You may purchase a 12ft Lead Rope from one of the following online sites:
3. 4ft Training Stick with 6ft String (Required)
The Training Stick and String are essentially an extension to your arm, which is essential in allowing you to seem bigger than you are to your horse.  This greatly enhances the training exercises by allowing you to be where you need to be faster and with greater safety! The non-flex design of the stick gives you more feel, accuracy and options on the ground.  When riding, it teaches your horse about supporting reins, leg queues, and more.  It features: leather loop; rubber handle for non-slip, comfortable grip.

You may purchase a 4ft Training Stick and 6ft String from one of the following online sites:
4. Natural Hackamore  (Optional)
While the Natural Hackamore is a nice addition to your Natural Horsemanship collection, this same configuration can be achieved by adding clip-on reins to your Rope Halter and 12ft Lead Rope...  Therefore, this item is optional, and additional links to clip-on reins will be included below.  The Natural Hackamore is lightweight, soft, strong, and facilitates ground skills as well as riding.  It features: high quality yachting braid; loop rein and 12-foot lead in one.
